About this fabric

Porter & Stone’s Balmoral FR Ochre is a 140cm-wide fabric made from 78% polyester and 22% cotton, with a 32cm vertical repeat and 35.5cm horizontal repeat. The design combines wide bands of muted ochre with a light cream ground and fine graphite-grey pinstripes, giving the check a tailored but easygoing feel. In the image, the yellow leans dusty and mellow rather than bright, so it catches the light with a soft, brushed warmth. The overall surface appears smooth and neatly woven, making it suitable for either upholstery or drapery use.

How to use it

This colourway works well in rooms that need warmth without heaviness, especially alongside pale oak, putty walls, and simple linen textures. Use it for cushions, occasional chairs, or relaxed curtains where the ochre check can bring a gentle country-house note.

Use with natural woods and chalky neutrals to keep the ochre feeling fresh.
