Porter & Stone

Portland Indigo

Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric

Portland Indigo pairs a pale natural ground with an arched botanical repeat in inky indigo and softened grey. The result is crisp and ordered, with the darker outline giving the design a neat, tailored presence.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is woven in 82% poly, 11% cotton and 7% linen, giving the cloth a balanced look that sits neatly between casual linen texture and practical durability. At 140cm wide with a 15.8cm pattern repeat, the design is easy to plan for both full drops and fitted upholstery panels. The visible ground reads as warm natural flax, while the motif layers indigo-black outlines with muted grey-blue petals, creating a cool, refined contrast rather than a bright navy pop. The overall effect is smart and orderly, with enough texture in the weave to keep the surface from feeling flat.

How to use it

Use Portland Indigo on a neatly tailored armchair, banquette or roman blind where the repeating arch motif can be shown off. It works especially well with pale oak, chalky paintwork and other cool neutrals that echo the softened indigo tone.

A cool, tailored floral that brings quiet pattern to both relaxed seating and understated curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
