Salmesbury Charcoal

Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric

Salmesbury Charcoal shows a neat all-over tree motif set against a deep charcoal ground. The tiny, scattered leaf detail keeps the design lively while the overall effect stays dark and refined.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is 100% polyester and comes 145cm wide, with a 29.5cm pattern repeat and care instructions AQV1<. In this colourway, the charcoal background reads cool and muted, while the little tree forms are picked out in lighter beige-grey tones that stand out without looking stark. The repeated motif is orderly and compact, giving the surface a tailored, textured feel rather than a bold statement print. Its mid-scale repeat and steady handle make it a practical choice where you want pattern, but in a restrained, architectural way.

How to use it

Use Salmesbury Charcoal to bring a smart, contemporary note to a pair of armchairs, or to soften a room with structured curtains that sit quietly against painted walls. It works especially well with pale oak, putty, and graphite accents, where the warm-grey motif can be picked out clearly.

A crisp charcoal ground with a neat small-tree motif that suits tailored upholstery or understated drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
