Tangier Indigo shows a tightly ordered stripe with deep indigo bands set against softer pale blue-grey and silver-toned lines. The effect is cool, structured and quietly graphic.

About this fabric

This Fabric from Fryett's Fabrics is woven in a 61% polyester, 21% viscose and 18% cotton blend, with a 140cm width and a 38cm pattern repeat. The surface reads as a crisp small-scale stripe, with narrow navy-indigo bars alternating with washed steel-blue, misty grey and pale chalky bands. The weave has a lightly textured, cloth-like finish that keeps the palette from feeling flat, giving the darker stripes a little depth and the lighter areas a soft sheen in the light. Its balanced construction and neat repeat make it well suited to projects that need a tailored, orderly look.

How to use it

Pair this indigo stripe with pale oak, painted white or brushed metal for a clean, contemporary scheme. It works especially well where you want a cooler blue note that still feels refined rather than nautical.

Use for tailored upholstery or crisp drapery where the cool blue stripes can add structure.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
