Amazilia Velvets Mustard/Papaya/Indigo is a richly shaded velvet of painterly vertical bands, with a near-black indigo centre framed by papaya, red and mustard-olive tones. Subtle vertical striations add movement to the saturated colour while the velvet surface catches the light unevenly.

About this fabric

The 379 gsm weight and 64 threads per cm give this velvet a substantial, closely woven presence, while the broad vertical colour bands remain softened by fine streaks in the surface. A deep indigo and blue-black field dominates the centre, edged with glowing papaya-orange and red before shifting into mustard and olive at the outer sides. The 144 cm usable width is practical for upholstery panels, and the standard length is 25 m. Both the vertical and horizontal pattern repeats are 0 cm, leaving the painterly stripe arrangement free from a measured repeat.

How to use it

Use the deep indigo centre as an anchor on a statement chair or sofa, then draw out the papaya and mustard tones with warm wood, aged brass or rust-coloured accents. The cooler blue-black depth also works against pale walls and natural neutrals.

Pair the deep indigo centre with warm timber, dark leather or muted brass for a richly layered scheme.
