Harlequin

Skintilla Midnight

Leonida Velvets Edit VelvetHAF0230-03

Skintilla Midnight reads as a smoky taupe-grey rather than a clear blue, with a dense, softly reflective surface marked by fine broken vertical texture. Its shadowed tone gives the colourway a quiet, enveloping depth.

About this fabric

This Harlequin velvet weighs 550 gsm and has a 140 cm usable width, giving the cloth a substantial presence for upholstery. Across the surface, closely spaced pale and charcoal-grey marks form a small, irregular vertical pattern that shifts gently as the pile catches the light. The design has a 28.5 cm vertical repeat and a 17.5 cm horizontal repeat, while the 65.5 threads per cm specification reflects its densely constructed appearance. The cool, muted taupe-grey colouring keeps the velvet sophisticated and restrained rather than starkly dark.

How to use it

Use Skintilla Midnight on a reading chair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its smoky taupe-grey depth can soften a room of chalky neutrals. Pair it with warm timber, aged metal and lighter textured fabrics to pick out the subtle pale marks in the pile.

The deep smoky taupe-grey tone and plush 550 gsm handle bring understated depth to upholstered seating and headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
