Harlequin

Performance Velvets Kelp

Performance Velvets Kelp is a saturated yellow-green velvet with a smooth, even surface and a softly shifting sheen. Its bright kelp tone appears lighter across the raised pile and deeper where the cloth turns away from the light.

About this fabric

This plain colourway has no visible motif, with the solid surface allowing the vivid green tone and directional velvet pile to take centre stage. The 540 gsm weight gives the cloth a substantial feel suited to upholstered furniture, while its 141 cm usable width supports practical upholstery planning. Light travels gently across the pile, creating broad tonal changes from fresh chartreuse green to deeper mossy green. There is no pattern repeat, with both the vertical and horizontal repeats supplied as 0 cm.

How to use it

Use Kelp on a statement armchair, sofa or headboard where its energetic yellow-green tone can act as the room’s focal colour. Balance the saturated velvet with warm timber, natural neutrals or darker olive accents.

Use this vivid kelp green velvet to bring saturated colour and soft sheen to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

Performance Velvets Kelp is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
