Performance Velvet VelvetHAF0562-23

Performance Velvets Harissa is a deep, warm red velvet with the dark, wine-like intensity visible across the folded swatch. Its plain surface shifts gently between burgundy shadow and a softer red highlight as the pile catches the light.

About this fabric

The 540 gsm construction gives this Harlequin velvet a substantial handle well suited to upholstery. Its smooth, unpatterned face is defined by a fine nap, creating a subdued sheen along the raised fold and a deeper garnet tone in the shaded areas. Harissa has a usable width of 141 cm and no vertical or horizontal pattern repeat, making the colour and direction of the velvet the principal visual features. The warm red-burgundy shade brings depth without the brightness of a clear scarlet.

How to use it

Use Harissa on a statement armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its wine-red depth can anchor a room. Pair it with warm timber, aged brass and soft neutral textiles to balance the velvet’s saturated tone.

A rich wine-red velvet with a softly reflective nap, ideal for statement upholstery and deeper-toned interiors.

Pairs well with

Performance Velvets Harissa is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
