About this fabric

Woven in 47% linen, 35% cotton and 18% viscose, Helena Straw has a natural-looking body that suits curtains and cushions, with decorative upholstery use also noted. The visible ground is a mellow straw beige with a faint golden cast, while the leaf design sits in a paler cream so the pattern reads clearly without sharp contrast. A subtle horizontal texture in the cloth stops the colour from looking flat and adds a relaxed, fabric-forward feel. With a Martindale rub test of 10,000 and an approximate width of 128cm, it is best treated as a decorative upholstery fabric rather than a heavy contract cloth. Dry clean only, and for FR applications the fabric is L exempt non-FR and must be used with a schedule 3 interliner.

How to use it

Use Helena Straw to soften a room with oak, rattan or painted timber, where the straw tone will bring warmth without feeling heavy. It works especially well for full-length curtains or cushions in schemes that need a refined botanical note and a gentle golden lift.

A soft straw ground and creamy leaf embroidery give this fabric an easy, refined warmth.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Helena Straw without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
