Marigold Indigo/Linen

Morris 160th Anniversary Fabric FabricMOF0040-05

Marigold Indigo/Linen pairs a cool, ink-like indigo with a warm linen-coloured ground, creating a richly layered botanical surface. Sweeping leaves, open flowers and smaller berry-like blooms fill the repeat with almost no bare ground.

About this fabric

The densely drawn design features curling foliage, daisy-like flowers and clusters of small rounded blooms, all picked out in deep indigo against a soft, natural linen tone. At 260 gsm and 36.6 threads per cm, the fabric has a versatile mid-weight presence suited to both upholstery and drapery. Its 22.5 cm vertical repeat and 23 cm horizontal repeat give the pattern a clearly readable, medium-scale rhythm across the cloth. The 137 cm usable width provides a practical working width while preserving the continuous botanical arrangement.

How to use it

Use the cool indigo detail to bring definition to a pale, warm room, pairing it with natural wood, chalky walls and woven textures. The linen ground keeps the dense floral pattern balanced enough for full curtains, while the darker blue gives an occasional chair or cushion strong visual focus.

Use this richly detailed indigo-and-linen botanical for curtains, occasional seating or a statement upholstered chair.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
