About this fabric

The embroidered floral design is picked out in warm ivory against an inky grey ground, with the tonal contrast softened by the fabric’s lightly textured surface. At 340 gsm and 131.5 cm usable width, it has the substance for upholstery while remaining suitable for drapery. The pattern repeats every 47 cm vertically and 26.3 cm horizontally, allowing the leafy sprigs and berry clusters to flow continuously across a larger piece. A count of 31 threads per cm contributes to the compact, even handle visible in the swatch.

How to use it

Use this cool grey colourway on an occasional chair, headboard or full-length curtain, balancing its ivory foliage with pale stone upholstery, weathered oak and brushed nickel.

Pair the cool inky grey ground with pale timber, chalky neutrals and softly aged metals for a calm, considered interior.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Pure Arbutus Embroidery Inky Grey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
