Wilton Weave Slate

The Unfinished Works Fabrics FabricMOF0273-02

Wilton Weave Slate presents a richly detailed floral pattern against a cool slate-grey taupe ground. Ivory, oatmeal and muted blush details lift the dense woven design without losing its softly shadowed depth.

About this fabric

Large stylised flowers, curling leaves and small rosette motifs form a closely packed, symmetrical arrangement across the cloth, with pale ivory and aged-oatmeal highlights catching against the darker ground. The colourway reads cooler and more muted than a warm brown, while subtle mauve and blush notes add depth within the slate background. At 667 gsm, with 93 threads per cm, this is a substantial woven fabric suited to hard-wearing upholstery. It has a 135 cm usable width, a 78 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 67 cm horizontal repeat.

How to use it

Use the slate taupe ground on a sofa, occasional chair or headboard where the large floral repeat can be appreciated at close range. Pair it with chalky ivory, stone, muted mauve or dark stained wood to echo the colour variation in the motif.

Use this cool slate-toned floral on statement upholstery, balanced with warm ivory, oatmeal or aged timber accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
