Mulberry Home

Bohemian Velvet Teal/Spice

Bohemian Travels VelvetFD286.T69

Bohemian Velvet Teal/Spice combines a dark, densely patterned ground with glowing spice-brown and muted teal accents. The velvet pile gives the intricate motif a softly varied surface, so the colour shifts subtly across the swatch.

About this fabric

This Mulberry Home velvet has a richly layered ornamental pattern of small diamond and medallion-like motifs, picked out in rust, copper-brown, charcoal and blue-teal. The teal reads as a cool, subdued accent rather than a bright statement, balancing the warmer spice tones and dark ground. At 140 cm wide, the fabric has a 63 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 35 cm horizontal repeat. Its 60% viscose, 30% cotton and 10% polyester composition and 50,000 Martindale rub test make it suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use the deep rust-brown tones on an armchair, sofa or headboard, then echo the muted teal in cushions or painted joinery. The dark, ornate surface also works well as full-length curtains where its velvet texture can catch the light without losing its depth.

Use this richly coloured velvet to bring dark rust, brown and muted teal depth to upholstered seating or statement curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
