About this fabric

Catalogued as a fabric, this colourway has a compact woven appearance that reads as substantial and upholstery-friendly. Narrow chevron lines run vertically across the cloth, giving the dark ground a measured rhythm and a subtly tailored character. The charcoal-brown base is lifted by restrained reddish-brown flecks, which become more noticeable where the light catches the angled weave. Its small-scale pattern remains understated while adding depth at close range.

How to use it

Use 1796/PD65 on a classic armchair, sofa or dining seat where its charcoal-brown tone can anchor warmer timber, aged leather and muted neutral walls. The fine vertical herringbone also suits neatly tailored cushions or panels when a plain dark fabric would feel too flat.

A dark, tailored herringbone weave that brings subtle movement and depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
