Chambery blue

Chambery Fabricchamber/fa1/bbl

Chambery Blue pairs a soft slate-blue ground with an all-over scatter of chalky cream daisy heads. The print feels airy and hand-drawn, with the pale motif standing out cleanly against the cooler blue cloth.

About this fabric

Woven in 90% cotton and 10% linen, this fabric has a natural, lightly textured look that suits curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The 140cm width and usable width give good coverage for domestic making, while the 20cm horizontal repeat and 22.9cm vertical repeat create a medium-scale floral rhythm. In this colourway, the blue reads as muted and slightly weathered rather than bright, which softens the strong white-cream flower forms. Dry clean only and iron safe, it is a practical decorative textile with a calm, understated finish.

How to use it

Use this slate blue on full-length curtains or Roman blinds where you want a cool, restful colour with a clear floral character. It also works well for cushions and occasional upholstery pieces alongside painted woods, pale oak and soft greys.

A fresh slate-blue ground keeps the daisy motif easy and airy for curtains or relaxed upholstery pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
