Ambleside blue

Countryimpressions Fabricamblesi/fa1/tea

Ambleside Blue shows a softly painted lakeland scene in layered blue, teal and sage tones. The whole design feels airy and lyrical, with the brushwork and misty hills giving it a gentle sense of depth.

About this fabric

This fabric is woven in a 95% cotton, 5% linen cloth and is specified for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings, making it well suited to decorative window treatments. The print sits on a pale ground with rolling hills, tiny houses and scattered trees, while the palette moves through cool blue, aqua and soft green with occasional yellow and violet accents. At 230gsm it has enough substance for a polished drape, and the 140cm usable width and 52.5cm vertical repeat make the scene easy to plan across larger drops. Dry clean only and iron safe, it is a practical choice when you want the artistry of a scenic fabric without losing a tailored finish.

How to use it

Use this colourway in a country sitting room or bedroom where the cool blue-green hills can bring a calm, open feeling. It works especially well with chalky whites, weathered oak and muted sage upholstery.

Pair with warm neutrals and natural textures to keep the painterly scene feeling fresh.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
