Cloudburst blue

Diffusion Fabriccloudbu/fa1/pac

Cloudburst Blue shows Diffusion’s painterly abstract marks in a cool wash of aqua, sea blue and soft teal across a pale ground. The colourway feels airy and translucent, with darker inky edges giving the pattern extra depth.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this 230gsm fabric has enough substance for soft furnishings while still feeling comfortable for curtains and blinds. The design is a large-scale abstract scatter, with watercolour-like blooms in aqua, teal, blue and hints of violet and lemon that sit against a light background. In this colourway, the cooler blues are softened by milky mint tones, so the overall effect is fresh rather than heavy. The 70cm horizontal repeat and 82.2cm vertical repeat underline the generous, mural-like rhythm of the pattern. Dry clean only and iron safe, it is suitable for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings.

How to use it

Use Cloudburst Blue where you want colour without weight: it lifts neutral rooms and works especially well with white, pale oak and brushed chrome. The cool aqua notes suit relaxed coastal or contemporary schemes, while the darker indigo edges stop it feeling too delicate.

Pair with pale linens and bleached wood to keep the painterly colourway fresh.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Cloudburst blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
