Grassmere green

Countryimpressions Fabricgrassme/fa1/swe

Grassmere Green is a painterly woodland print with rabbits, trees and delicate meadow details scattered across a pale ground. The soft green palette feels airy and gentle rather than heavy, letting the pattern read clearly without overwhelming the fabric.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this fabric has a natural, softly textured handle and a relaxed mid-weight feel at 230gsm. The design shows a washed grassy green with watery blue-green accents, muted lilacs and touches of blush, all sitting on an open cream base that keeps the overall effect light. With a 138cm usable width, a 138cm horizontal repeat and a 79.5cm vertical repeat, it is well suited to curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. Dry clean only care and a cool iron finish make it practical for decorative schemes that want a fresh country look without a saturated, dark green tone.

How to use it

Pair this gentle green colourway with pale oak, chalky whites and linen textures to emphasise its fresh, outdoorsy feel. It works especially well in a relaxed bedroom, nursery or garden-room scheme where the soft painterly print can breathe.

Use it for curtains or cushions to bring a fresh, painterly woodland feel into a room.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Grassmere green without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
