Lydiard green

Botanical Stories Fabriclydiard/fa1/lin

Lydiard Green shows a loose botanical trail of stems, seedheads and leaf forms on a soft pale ground. The palette reads as fresh sage and yellow-green with warm olive and tan accents.

About this fabric

This fabric is made from 95% cotton and 5% linen, giving the print a crisp yet slightly organic handle that suits both soft furnishings and drapes. The design’s large horizontal and vertical repeat, at 45.67cm and 61.02cm, creates an airy scatter of foliage rather than a tightly packed all-over pattern. In this colourway the greens sit between sage, moss and lime, with small golden-brown details that add warmth without making the overall effect heavy. It is 140cm wide, dry clean only, iron safe, and should not be bleached, softened or tumble dried.

How to use it

Pair Lydiard Green with oak, rattan and warm white upholstery for a calm country look, or use it for curtains where the pale ground can reflect light. The fresh green notes work especially well in rooms that need a natural lift without going overtly bright.

Use with natural woods and linen neutrals to let the painterly foliage feel fresh rather than busy.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Lydiard green without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
