Lydiard orange

Botanical Stories Fabriclydiard/fa1/apr

Lydiard Orange has a warm apricot ground that lets the painterly meadow stems and seed heads feel light and airy. The overall effect is softly botanical rather than bold, with green, ochre and olive detailing standing out against the pale background.

About this fabric

From Voyage Maison's Botanical Stories collection, this fabric is composed of 95% cotton and 5% linen and measures 140cm wide. The visible ground is a gentle orange-apricot tone, more sun-washed than saturated, which gives the botanical motif a calm, refined look. Delicate stems, leaves and seed heads are picked out in olive, sage, muted gold and deeper green, creating a layered meadow effect across the cloth. With horizontal and vertical repeats of 45.67cm and 61.02cm, it suits a considered pattern placement, and the dry-clean-only care plus iron-safe finish make it straightforward to specify for decorative schemes.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want pattern and warmth without heaviness: it works beautifully as relaxed drapery or light upholstery on occasional chairs. The apricot ground pairs well with limewashed walls, oak, rattan and soft green accents.

Pair with warm neutrals and aged woods to let the painterly stems soften the room.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Lydiard orange without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
