Olearia pink

Hibbertiameadows Fabricolearli/fa1/fuc

Olearia Pink is a painterly floral on a warm ivory ground, with loose blossoms and airy stems in blush, rose, mauve and soft blue. The overall effect is light and romantic, with the larger flower heads giving the design a gentle, expressive presence.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this fabric has a relaxed natural handle that suits curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The visible print is washed and brushy rather than sharply outlined, so the pinks feel softened into the cloth rather than sitting on top of it. Blush, rose and mauve tones are lifted by touches of blue and pale sage, which keeps the colourway fresh rather than overly sweet. At 230gsm, it has enough substance for decorative use while still reading as an easy drapery fabric. The 68cm horizontal repeat and 74.5cm vertical repeat suggest a generous floral layout with plenty of movement across the width.

How to use it

Use Olearia Pink in a bedroom, garden room or sitting room where the muted pink ground can sit against cream paintwork or weathered timber. It also works well with dusty blue or soft sage accessories to echo the cooler brushstrokes in the print.

Pair with pale neutrals or faded blue accents to keep the painterly floral feeling light and airy.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Olearia pink without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
