Olearia red

Hibbertiameadows Fabricolearcr/fa1/boy

Olearia Red is a painterly floral on a pale ground, with airy stems and meadow blooms brushed in red, plum and soft pink. The overall effect is light and romantic, with the stronger flower heads giving the design its warmth and depth.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this fabric has a soft, natural handle and a mid-weight 230gsm feel that suits curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The 138cm usable width gives good practical coverage, while the 68cm horizontal repeat and 74.5cm vertical repeat show the scale of the sweeping floral layout. In this colourway, the reds read as muted mulberry and rose rather than bright primary tones, so the print feels layered and slightly watercolour-soft against the ivory ground. The fine stems, scattered seed heads and hazy petals keep the look airy even where the larger blooms add drama.

How to use it

Pair Olearia Red with pale timber, chalky neutrals or faded green accents to keep the palette fresh. It works especially well for full-length curtains or relaxed cushions where the soft red tones can sit against a light room.

Use this painterly floral to bring a gentle burst of colour to curtains, cushions or an accent chair.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
