Samarinda red

Equator Fabricsamarin/fa1/pona

Samarinda Red shows a painterly floral trail in washed red, pink and plum tones across a pale ground. The soft, watercolour handling gives the design a light, airy feel despite the strong bloom at its centre.

About this fabric

This fabric is woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, with a 230gsm weight that suits curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The large-scale floral motif is diffused rather than sharply drawn, so the red petals read as softened berry and rose shades rather than a hard primary red. Around the flower, hints of green, grey-lilac and blush keep the colourway fresh and balanced against the creamy background. The 69cm horizontal and vertical repeat supports a generous, flowing placement on window treatments.

How to use it

Use it where you want a romantic but not overly formal statement, especially in rooms with linen upholstery or painted timber. The softened red tones work well with chalky whites, warm greys and aged brass.

Pair with pale neutrals and natural woods to let the painterly red blooms stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
