Althorp red
Edenmuir Fabricalthorp/fa1/cin
Althorp Red pairs a cream ground with a lively, hand-drawn floral pattern in coral red, teal, mustard and soft green. The overall effect is bright and airy, with the red outlining giving the design a crisp, sketch-like energy.

About this fabric
Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this fabric has a dry, natural handle that suits its decorative, mid-weight feel at 230gsm. The design shows oversized petal and flower forms drawn in layered outline rather than filled blocks, so the pattern reads open and graphic against the pale background. In this colourway, the red is softened into a coral tone rather than a deep brick shade, which keeps the palette fresh and easy to live with. The 70cm horizontal repeat and 69.5cm vertical repeat support a bold, continuous pattern across curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. It is dry clean only and iron safe, with no fire-retardant treatment noted.
How to use it
Use Althorp Red as the lead fabric in a room with chalky walls, pale timber and brushed brass, where the coral outlines can bring warmth without feeling heavy. It also works well as a lively accent on a chair or blind when paired with quieter neutrals and muted greens.
Use for statement curtains or upholstered accent pieces to bring lively colour to a light scheme.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Althorp red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
