Olearia purple

Hibbertiameadows Fabricolearli/fa1/cro

Olearia Purple is a loose, painterly floral on a pale ground, with airy stems and soft washes of lilac, blue and sage. The overall effect is light and botanical rather than dense, letting the violet tones feel fresh and spacious.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this 230 gsm fabric has enough body for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings while still keeping the design’s washed, watercolor look. The colourway reads as a cool, muted lavender with blue-grey shadows, lifted by touches of teal-green foliage and small ivory flowerheads. Its broad horizontal repeat of 68 cm and vertical repeat of 74.5 cm suit the generous scale of the floral spray, so the pattern can breathe across the width. Dry clean only and cool iron care help preserve the soft surface and delicate colour blending.

How to use it

Use Olearia Purple in relaxed curtains or Roman blinds where the pale ground can brighten a room and the lavender brushstrokes add gentle colour. It works especially well with chalky neutrals, weathered oak, and muted sage accents.

Pair with pale woods and brushed metals to keep the airy purple palette feeling fresh.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
