Galatea purple
Galatea Fabricgalatea/fa1/dam
Galatea Purple has a painterly, brushed look with long horizontal sweeps of lavender, lilac and pale blue-grey. The result is airy and fluid, with a soft abstract movement that feels calm rather than saturated.

About this fabric
Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this 230gsm fabric has the substance of a versatile decorative textile while still reading light and flowing in the image. The design shows broad, layered horizontal bands in pale lilac, silvery grey, chalky blue and touches of pink-purple, creating a watercolour effect across the cloth. With a 68cm horizontal and vertical repeat, the motif has a generous scale that suits statement curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The surface appears smooth with a gently matte finish, and the colourway stays cool and misty rather than bright or jewel-toned.
How to use it
Use this soft purple shade where you want colour without heaviness, such as relaxed drapes or a feature roman blind. It pairs well with pale woods, washed plaster tones and quiet greys to keep the room feeling airy.
Let the painterly lilac bands do the talking on simple, softly tailored pieces.
Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Galatea purple without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
