Sylvana blue

Midsummer Meadows Fabricsylvana/fa1/deb

Sylvana Blue has a fresh powder-blue ground that lets the printed meadow flowers feel light and airy. The large-scale hydrangea blooms and trailing leaves read as a soft, painterly surface rather than a high-contrast floral.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this 140cm-wide fabric has the relaxed handle you would expect from a natural fibre blend. The pattern repeat is a generous 68.5cm both horizontally and vertically, so the oversized stems and flower heads have room to unfold across a scheme. In this colourway, the blue ground is pale and cool, which gives the lilac and sky-blue blossoms a gentle lift while the green foliage stays crisp and fresh. It is dry clean only, should not be bleached or tumble dried, and is iron safe, making it straightforward to care for as a decorative furnishing textile.

How to use it

Use Sylvana Blue where you want a room to feel breezy and botanical, such as relaxed curtains, cushion covers, or a feature occasional chair. Its soft blue ground works especially well with white paintwork, washed wood, and other cool spring tones.

Pair with pale oak, chalk white, or fresh green accents to keep the watercolour florals feeling light and airy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
