Vellamo grey

Vellamo Fabricvellamo/fa1/lea

Vellamo Grey shows a softly striated, pebble-like texture in cool grey tones, with darker charcoal flecks running through the weave. The effect is grounded and understated, giving the fabric a quiet depth rather than a flat solid finish.

About this fabric

Woven from 57% polyester and 43% viscose, this 415gsm fabric has enough substance for upholstery while remaining suitable for curtains and blinds. The visible surface is a small-scale, mottled texture with vertical streaking that lifts the mid-grey ground into a cooler, more dimensional finish. Its 50,000 Martindale rating makes it a practical choice for seating, and the 138cm usable width gives good coverage for larger projects. With no pattern repeat, the irregular texture reads cleanly across the cloth, while dry clean only care and do not iron guidance suit a polished, tailored finish.

How to use it

This cool grey works especially well with pale oak, blackened metal and crisp white, where its fine striations add movement without dominating the room. Use it on a sofa or tailored curtains when you want a smart, balanced neutral with a slightly softened, smoky edge.

A versatile grey that feels calm and contemporary in either upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
