Vellamo purple

Vellamo Fabricvellamo/fa1/mid

Vellamo Purple has a softly variegated surface, reading as a cool heathered purple with silvered highlights and darker peppered striations. The close-up weave gives it a textured, understated look rather than a flat solid.

About this fabric

Woven in 57% polyester and 43% viscose, this Vellamo colourway has a substantial 415gsm handle and a durable 50,000 Martindale rating, making it suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery. The fabric shows a mottled purple ground with charcoal-toned vertical streaking and lighter flecking that catches the light like a brushed, slightly nubby textile. Its 138cm usable width and zero pattern repeat make it straightforward for tailoring and panel work. The overall effect is cool, muted and quietly sophisticated, with enough depth to soften the stronger purple note.

How to use it

Pair this dusky purple with pale oak, chalky neutrals or brushed metal details for a calm, contemporary scheme. It works especially well on a statement chair, roman blind or layered drape where the textured surface can be seen up close.

Use to bring a cool, textural note to tailored upholstery or lined curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
