About this fabric

This woven fabric from Sanderson’s Caspian Weaves collection has a substantial 750 gsm handle, which suits upholstery well. The 143 cm usable width and 26.5 cm vertical by 35.5 cm horizontal repeat make it practical for patterned furnishing work, while the 133 threads per cm specification points to a very dense, refined construction. Visually, the design pairs teal-blue outlines with pale ivory grounds and small olive-tinged centres, creating a cool, slightly softened palette rather than a bright turquoise. The stepped, ikat-like diamond motif feels rhythmic and graphic, with enough texture in the image to stop the pattern from looking hard or flat.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, ottoman or scattered cushions where the teal diamonds can add movement against plain linen, oak or painted white surfaces. It also works well in a room with natural textures, since the cool palette keeps the look calm rather than busy.
