Box Hill Slate/Stone

Country House Fabrics FabricSAF0052-03

Box Hill Slate/Stone shows a soft, leafy botanical pattern in cool slate teal on an ivory ground, lifted by small dusty berry accents. The print feels airy and gently aged rather than bright or glossy.

About this fabric

This Sanderson Country House Fabrics design is a fabric, not a wallpaper, with a usable width of 137 cm and a substantial 300 gsm weight. The 46 cm vertical and horizontal repeat creates a regular trailing leaf rhythm across the cloth, while the 19.5 threads per cm give the surface a neatly woven, cloth-like character. In this colourway, the foliage reads as misty slate-teal with a greyed edge, so the leaves feel softened and slightly weathered against the pale base. The tiny berry notes add a muted rose-red accent that keeps the palette from becoming too cool. It suits interiors that want pattern with a calm, country-house restraint.

How to use it

Use this slate-and-stone palette on an upholstered armchair, window seat or bed valance where the medium-scale leaf trail can be appreciated. It works especially well with limewashed woods, oatmeal textures and deeper red-brown accessories for a settled, collected feel.

Pair with worn oak, chalky paintwork and plain linens for a quietly country look.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
