Caverley Chintz

Country House Fabrics FabricSAF0046-02

Caverley Chintz in this colourway has a warm ivory ground that lets the painted branches, birds and blossom read clearly without feeling stark. The overall effect is classic country-house chintz with a fresh, light hand.

About this fabric

This Sanderson Fabric has a usable width of 137 cm and a substantial weight of 380 gsm, giving the cloth enough body for upholstery as well as decorative use. The pattern repeat is 69.5 cm vertically, with a full-width horizontal repeat of 137 cm, which suits the spreading branches and scattered birds visible across the design. In this colourway the ground is a soft cream-ivory, while the leaves sit in clear greens and blue-greens with coral-red and blush flower details and pale, sketch-like birds. The tones feel bright but gently aged, so the print keeps its country-house character without becoming too dark or dense.

How to use it

Use it on a statement armchair, a pelmet or lined curtains where the ivory ground can lift a room with woodwork or painted joinery. It pairs especially well with muted sage, old white and warm oak finishes.

The soft ivory background keeps the busy chintz feeling bright and elegant rather than heavy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
