Giselle Silver/Pewter

Country House Fabrics FabricSAF0108-02

Giselle Silver/Pewter shows a softly aged floral print set against a pale silver-pewter ground. The bouquet clusters read airy and vintage, with muted lilac, sage and cream petals giving the design a lifted country-house feel.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric has a usable width of 137 cm and a substantial 300 gsm weight, so it sits comfortably in the mid-weight bracket for either curtains or upholstery projects. The large pattern repeat of 105 cm vertically and 68.5 cm horizontally creates generous floral groupings, which are clearly visible in the swatch as repeating posies and loose trailing stems. In this colourway, the silver/pewter background feels cool and quiet rather than dark, while the pale lavender, sage and soft cream detailing keeps the overall effect fresh. The weave appears smooth and cloth-like, with enough body to support soft furnishings without losing the delicate painted look of the design.

How to use it

Use it for relaxed country-house curtains, or upholster an occasional chair where the pale grey base can brighten a room. It works especially well with chalky whites, weathered oak and muted metallic accents.

Pair with pale timber and brushed metals to let the silvery ground and washed florals stay light and elegant.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Giselle Silver/Pewter without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
