About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Country House Fabrics collection is a substantial 365 gsm woven with a 140 cm usable width, making it well suited to structured upholstery. The plaid is built from broad indigo stripes, finer brown and taupe lines, and a pale stone background that keeps the overall effect calm rather than high contrast. At 47.5 threads per cm, the cloth reads as tightly woven and neatly defined, with the check pattern staying crisp across the surface. The 37 cm vertical repeat and 36.5 cm horizontal repeat create a balanced tartan-style layout that feels orderly and traditional without looking overly formal.

How to use it

Use it on a pair of armchairs, a sofa or bench seating to bring a grounded blue note into a country interior. It pairs especially well with weathered oak, cream paintwork and plain linens in stone or flax tones.

Works beautifully on upholstered seating where the indigo checks can anchor a country room.
