Chiswick grove Indigo

Country Woodland Fabrics FabricSAF0201-03

Chiswick Grove Indigo pairs a moody blue ground with softly painted woodland branches, cream foliage and small birds picked out in pink-red accents. The overall effect is atmospheric and layered, with the design reading clearly across the cloth.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric has a usable width of 138 cm and a substantial 207 gsm weight, so it sits comfortably in the mid-weight range for curtains or occasional upholstery. The 73 cm vertical repeat and full 138 cm horizontal repeat create a broad, generous pattern that shows off the trailing branches and birds across the width of the cloth. In this Indigo colourway, the ground is a smoky, weathered blue rather than a bright navy, which gives the pale leaves and blossoms a chalky, almost hand-tinted look. The cream and stone botanicals stand out crisply against the cooler background, while the small birds add gentle flashes of muted rose and rust.

How to use it

Use this indigo colourway to bring depth to a sitting room, study or bedroom where you want pattern without glare. It works especially well with aged wood, pale linen and painted trim in soft white or putty tones.

A painterly indigo ground gives the cream foliage and small birds a softly romantic contrast.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
