About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Country House Fabrics collection has a usable width of 138 cm and a substantial 375 gsm weight, giving the cloth a tailored, upholstery-friendly feel. The pattern repeat is 16 cm vertical by 14 cm horizontal, and the geometric trellis is set out in a precise, lattice-like rhythm. In this colourway, the blue is pale and cool rather than vivid, with a softly washed look that lets the chalk motif stand out gently instead of sharply. The fine woven surface and 27 threads per cm create a smooth, lightly textured finish that suits traditional interiors with a fresher, airier note.

How to use it

Use it on an occasional chair or ottoman where the soft blue can lift heavier woods and darker upholstery. It also works well with white-painted joinery and silvered accents for a restrained country-house palette.

Pair with chalk linen and pale oak for a crisp, tailored look.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Baroque Trellis Wedgwood/Chalk without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
