About this colour

At #687F9F, Cadet Blue reads as a cool, softened blue with enough grey in it to keep it from feeling bright or coastal. In north-facing light it becomes more subdued and steelier, with the blue depth more pronounced, while south-facing light lifts the colour and brings out a clearer, slightly gentler blue. It reflects light well enough to stop a room feeling heavy, but it still has substance on the wall. In Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell, it works cleanly beside painted joinery, oak, walnut, and pale neutral upholstery.

How to use it

It suits sitting rooms, studies, and bedrooms where a steady wall colour is needed without going dark. Use it with crisp white woodwork for a sharper look, or alongside warm timber and linen-upholstered furniture for a quieter scheme.
