About this colour

This shade reads as a dusty pink-brown with a gentle warmth, and the #CE9687 value keeps it subdued rather than sweet. On a wall it reflects light softly without looking pale, so it feels settled and close. In north-facing rooms it can turn cooler and a little more taupe, while in south-facing light the rose tones come forward and it feels warmer and more inviting. It sits well beside dark walnut, oak, aged brass, deep green upholstery and parchment-coloured curtains, where its muted warmth gives those finishes a calm frame. In Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell, it has a smooth, practical finish suited to both walls and joinery.

How to use it

Inkwood works well in living rooms, bedrooms and dressing rooms where a quieter warm colour is needed on walls or woodwork. It pairs neatly with natural wood, camel, olive and soft ivory upholstery, and with curtains in stone, muted terracotta or faded floral tones.
