Medieval Embroidery Mustard

Sanderson x National Trust Volume II FabricSAF0494-02

Medieval Embroidery Mustard has a warm, aged-gold ground with a softly raised embroidered pattern that reads antique and richly layered. The motif sits tonally close to the base cloth, so the design feels textural rather than high-contrast.

About this fabric

This Sanderson x National Trust Volume II fabric is a substantial cloth at 395gsm, with a usable width of 132.5 cm and a 79.2 cm vertical repeat, giving the design the presence needed for upholstery. The mustard colourway is mellow and earthy rather than bright, with a golden-brown cast that feels quietly historic in the light. Raised detailing picks out the medieval-style figures and foliage in a slightly deeper tone, so the pattern emerges through texture as much as through colour. At 32 threads per cm, the weave appears refined and close, helping the embroidery-like surface feel crisp and well controlled.

How to use it

Use it on a statement armchair, ottoman or banquette where the warm mustard can bring depth to wood, leather and dark painted finishes. It also works well with aged brass, ochre accents and muted greens for a layered, heritage look.

Best for statement seating where the warm mustard tone can show off the embroidered detail.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
