About this fabric

The design has a deep red ground crossed by broad burgundy bands and fine dark lines, creating a classic checked rhythm with plenty of visual depth. Taupe sections soften the strong red, while muted green accents appear within the intersecting stripes. The visible woven grain gives the cloth a tactile, substantial appearance, and the folds reveal subtle changes between saturated crimson-red and deeper wine tones. This colourway has a warm, relaxed character that feels particularly at home on traditional or country-style upholstery.

How to use it

Use Bainbridge Pimpernel on a statement armchair, footstool or bench where its deep red tartan can anchor a room. Balance the warm checks with aged timber, natural linens and quiet taupe upholstery accents.

A richly coloured tartan with a relaxed country feel, well suited to characterful upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
