About this fabric
The fabric is visibly formed by a thick, velvety pile, with subtle changes in direction creating bands of charcoal-grey sheen against the black ground. Deep diagonal ridges and soft valleys give the surface a sculptural quality rather than a flat, uniform appearance. Where the pile catches the light, the colour lifts gently to smoky graphite; in the recessed folds it returns to a near-black depth. This strongly tactile, heavy-looking texture makes the colourway especially suited to upholstery where its tonal movement can be appreciated up close.
How to use it
Use Njord Panther on a statement armchair, headboard or sculptural sofa in a dark, atmospheric scheme. Pair its cool black tone with smoked timber, aged metal and softer grey textiles to draw out the pile’s subtle graphite highlights.
