About this colour

This shade reads as a pale taupe-beige with a lilac cast, so it warms a wall without turning creamy or pink. Its #CFC5BB value gives it a good amount of light reflection, but the colour still feels grounded and calm rather than bright. In a north-facing room it can lean a little cooler and more grey-lilac, which suits it if you want a restrained backdrop. In south light the beige side comes forward and the colour looks warmer, softer and more cocooning. It sits especially well beside pale oak, walnut, stone floors and upholstered pieces in mushroom, linen, dove grey or muted damson.

How to use it

Use Beauvais Lilac in sitting rooms, bedrooms or hallways where you want a neutral wall with a little more depth than plain beige. It works neatly with painted woodwork in soft white or darker timber, and with curtains or chairs in textured neutrals, smoky mauves and brown-based greys.

On a wall, Beauvais Lilac looks like a warm, quiet neutral with a lilac undertone.
