Zoffany

Venetian Red

2026 Paint PaintZOP1148-25

Venetian Red from Zoffany is a deep red-brown with a softened, earthy edge. It sits confidently on wall and woodwork, giving a room a grounded colour that feels composed rather than bright.

About this colour

#934C46 is a warm, muted red with brown in its base, so it reads as a clay-like colour rather than a clear red. It absorbs a fair amount of light, which helps it feel intimate and steady on a wall, especially in the True Matt finish. In a north-facing room it will look deeper and more restrained, with the brown notes coming forward; in south-facing light it softens and shows more of its red warmth. It sits well beside natural oak, dark walnut, brass, and textiles in camel, stone, olive, or ink blue.

How to use it

Use it in a dining room, study, or hallway where you want depth without coldness. It works neatly with painted joinery, timber furniture, and upholstery in warm neutrals, rusts, or muted greens.

A warm red-brown like this will make a wall feel settled and close.

Pairs well with

Venetian Red is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
