Vortex Spice
Essential Colours FabricBF10681.330
Vortex Spice has a warm, earthy terracotta ground crossed by a fine pale geometric weave. The close-set pattern gives the surface a softly textured, textile-led appearance rather than a flat colour.

About this fabric
This GP & J Baker fabric combines 52% viscose, 24% cotton, 18% linen and 6% polyester in a compact woven construction. Its small-scale pattern is formed by light yarns tracing a regular, slightly irregular grid across the spice-toned ground, creating subtle depth as the light moves over it. At 137 cm wide, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The 40,000 Martindale rub test supports its use on frequently used upholstered pieces, while the care instructions require professional dry cleaning and prohibit washing, bleaching and ironing.
How to use it
Use the warm terracotta tone to bring depth to a neutral sitting room, where the fine pale grid can add quiet pattern to a chair, sofa or upholstered headboard. It can also be carried through to curtains or a bedspread for a cohesive, softly graphic scheme.
A warm terracotta woven texture with a fine geometric structure, suited to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Vortex Spice without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
