Vortex Indigo combines a cool, muted indigo ground with fine taupe and ochre threads arranged in a closely scaled woven grid. The softly varied surface gives the blue shade depth rather than a flat, saturated finish.

About this fabric

This GP & J Baker fabric is woven from 52% viscose, 24% cotton, 18% linen and 6% polyester, with a 137 cm (53.82") width. Fine vertical and horizontal threads create a small textured check, with a 1.5 cm vertical repeat and 3.5 cm horizontal repeat. The indigo blue reads calm and slightly smoky, while the warmer crossing threads add a restrained contrast that catches across the surface. Rated to 40,000 Martindale rubs, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use Vortex Indigo to bring a cool, quietly tailored note to a window seat, sofa or upholstered bed. Pair the smoky blue with warm timber, natural linen and muted ochre accents to pick up the subtle warmer threads in the weave.
