About this colour

At #ABA79E, Storm Grey reads as a soft greige with a brown-leaning warmth rather than a blue grey. It takes the edge off bright light and gives walls a calm, even depth without feeling heavy. In a north-facing room it can turn a little cooler and more stone-like, while in south light the warmer beige notes come forward and make it feel gentler. In Acrylic Eggshell, Elite Emulsion or True Matt, it works well on walls, joinery and panelled woodwork beside oatmeal, mushroom, charcoal and aged brass.

How to use it

Use Storm Grey in sitting rooms, studies and bedrooms where you want a quiet backdrop for patterned curtains or patterned upholstery. It sits well with walnut, oak and painted woodwork in off-white or deeper grey-green shades.
