Ansel Cerulean

Elliott Fabric

Ansel Cerulean presents a deep, cool blue ground crossed by tightly packed horizontal lines. The fine striations shift between blue-black and clearer cerulean notes, giving the swatch subtle directional movement.

About this fabric

The compact surface is defined by very fine horizontal yarn lines rather than a printed motif, with occasional lighter threads breaking through the dark ground. No composition, width, rub test or performance features are noted for this colourway; visually, it reads as a dense, structured textile rather than a sheer or openly fluid cloth. In Cerulean, the near-charcoal depth tempers the blue, while narrow turquoise-blue glints appear as the weave catches the light.

How to use it

Use this cool, deep blue on a tailored sofa, dining chair or headboard where its dark ground can add quiet depth. Pair it with pale stone, chalky grey or warm timber to bring out the finer cerulean threads.

Use this structured blue textile to bring depth to upholstered seating and headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
