About this fabric

The surface is densely packed with tiny looped or raised fibres, creating a tactile finish rather than a flat, printed pattern. In this colourway, sapphire blue is heavily deepened with charcoal and black, so it reads as a cool, atmospheric shade. Slight changes in the nap catch the light unevenly, revealing soft blue-grey variation across the dark ground. The substantial-looking texture makes it especially suited to upholstered seating and other pieces where a tactile, understated finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use Drake Black Sapphire on a statement armchair, sofa or ottoman when you want a room to feel grounded in a cool, ink-dark blue. Pair it with pale stone, smoked timber or brushed metal to pick out the subtle blue-grey highlights in the textured surface.

The near-black sapphire tone and dense tactile surface bring depth to contemporary upholstery and occasional furniture.
