About this fabric

Woven in 64% cotton and 36% polyester, Cape Sand is specified for severe contract upholstery and drapes, with a 40,000 rub test and a 138cm width. The cloth reads as a muted warm beige with creamy narrow stripes, giving the design a subtle rhythm rather than a strong contrast. Its surface looks smooth and closely woven, with enough body to suit seating while still feeling composed for window treatment. At 472 grams per linear metre, it has a substantial, versatile handle that supports both upholstery and drapery use. Made in India, this decorative fabric has an easy elegance that feels quiet rather than ornate.

How to use it

Use Cape Sand on a sofa, headboard or tailored curtains where you want a gentle striped pattern without visual noise. Its sandy tone pairs well with oak, linen, chalk white and deeper tobacco or olive accents.

A calm sandy stripe that brings understated warmth to tailored interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Cape Sand without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
