Hawthorn Maize

Sherwood Collection FabricHAWTHORN

Hawthorn Maize pairs a light, linen-like ground with slender botanical stems and clouds of small maize-yellow blossoms. The overall effect is airy and understated, with the flowers giving the design a warm, sunlit lift.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% cotton and supplied as drapes only, this traditional fabric has a relaxed hand and a crisp enough structure for curtains. The design is set on a pale neutral ground, where fine olive stems and clustered yellow seed-heads read as bright but not brash. At 138cm wide, with a vertical repeat of 63cm and horizontal repeat of 69cm, the pattern has a generous, decorative rhythm that suits full-length window dressings. The 317gsm weight gives it enough substance to hang neatly while keeping the overall look light and breathable. Made in Spain, it has the feel of a classic botanical cloth with a fresh maize tone rather than a heavy gold.

How to use it

Use it for layered curtains in a room with painted woodwork, wicker, or weathered oak, where the maize accents can glow against calm finishes. It works especially well in a country-house scheme that needs colour without darkening the space.

A warm maize floral that brings gentle sunshine to traditional curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
